You’re Invited to a Housing & Community Development Forum on February 19 at Chinatown YMCA

The Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, and the Planning Department invite BCNA members to participate in a community forum. The purpose of the forum is to seek input from residents on our departments’ strategic plans, which identify the City’s affordable housing, community development and workforce development needs and priorities and how they are addressed.

WHEN: Tuesday, February 19 from 5:30-7:30 PM
WHERE: Chinatown YMCA – 855 Sacramento Street

This is an opportunity for all San Franciscans, and especially residents of Districts 2 and 3, to share their opinions and experiences related to housing and social service needs, barriers to fair housing, and improving housing affordability. Food, child watch, and Cantonese interpretation will be provided at the event.

Your input would inform the development of the following six strategic plans:

  • The Consolidated Plan is the primary MOHCD plan that identifies affordable housing and community development needs and priorities.
  • The Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing looks at fair housing issues and how they can be addressed.
  • The HIV Housing Plan focuses on housing-related programs for people living with HIV.
  • The OEWD Workforce Strategy Framework identifies workforce development needs and priorities and informs the Workforce Local and Regional Plan
  • The Community Stabilization Strategy works to mitigate and prevent displacement and to ensure that economic growth offers benefits to existing communities.
  • The Housing Affordability Strategy provides a framework to evaluate how our housing policies and plans work together to address housing affordability for our diverse populations.

Thanks in advance, and we look forward to seeing you at the forum!
