The city just released new health orders regarding the timeline for business reopening and wearing face coverings:
- People must wear a face covering anytime theyâre outside the home and are indoors (such as at work or other allowed activities) with some exceptions. This means that all of us who live in apartment buildings must wear masks in common areas such as elevators and laundry rooms. Please urge your management to email residents and post signs to educate them of this order. It also mandates masks when exercising with others in the vicinity (e.g., running, bicycling within 30 feet). Exceptions apply for children under twelve.
- See https://www.sfdph.org/dph/alerts/files/Order-No-C19-12b-RequiringFaceCoverings-05282020.pdf
- A video showing how to make a face covering and additional information about how to wear and clean face coverings are available on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website
- On a positive note, if everyone complies with the health orders, it’s more likely that the city will be able to reopen activities on its tentative timeline.
